Flat rolled steel is steel that has been rolled into flat shapes such as coil, sheet, or plate, making it suitable for fabrication, forming, and manufacturing applications.
Hot rolled steel is processed at high temperatures and is typically used for thicker material and heavier-duty applications where tight tolerances and surface finish are less critical. Cold rolled steel is further reduced at room temperature, producing a thinner gauge with tighter tolerances and a smoother, more uniform finish.
Both are zinc-coated for corrosion resistance. Hot dipped galvanized steel is a strong choice when long-term protection from moisture and the elements is the priority. Galvannealed steel is heat-treated so the zinc bonds with the steel, creating a matte, paint-ready surface that is often preferred for painted products and welding.
Flat rolled steel is available as coil, sheet, and plate. Premium Steel Sales also offers processing such as slitting, cut-to-length, and custom blanking so material arrives in the form your production requires.
Whether you’re looking to reduce material costs, improve availability, or source an alternative to standard specifications, our team can help identify the right material for your application.
